Poynter Family Farms

Homesteading on a small scale

Homesteading represents a lifestyle choice that reflects a desire for simplicity, sustainability, and a deeper connection to the land and one’s own resources.

Gardening

We are on year 7 of gardening and excited to expand!

Family Milk Cow – Rosie

Meet Rosie! She is a Jersey/Guernsey mix and she produces Type 1 Milk. Rosie is due in August and will provide our family with milk alongside our neighbors.

Road Side Stand

If you’ve ever been around Cabool, you might have driven past our road side stand. Here we provide fresh vegetables, free range eggs, and baked/canned goods.

Our stand uses the honor system, so your honestly keeps us going!

Meet the creator

This blog is ran by Olivia Poynter (me!). I am a wife, mother of two red headed boys and a Middle School Science Teacher.

My passion is to help others become more self-sustainable. Whether that’s learning how to grow your own food, preserve the food you grow (or buy!), bake your own bread, or just random helpful tips! I am here for you!
